EASILY GET 8 BANDS IN READING…!!!!!!
Success depends on the way you solve the tasks, the way you write essays, what you speak and time management. If your aim is score good in IELTS exam you will need good level of English communication skills.
What is Reading??
It is one of the module of IELTS. You are examined on how quickly you understand the passage and attempt the questions. And, this module is taken just to know that how much English you can understand and how quickly you can respond after reading the passages, letters, forms and so on.
Tips for scoring 8 bands in READING
Here are some tips about how you can prepare for IELTS reading module. The tips are useful for both IELTS reading module and improving your English :
1. Develop skills for each type of question in reading – There are 14 different types of questions and you need to find strategy to tackle every question.
2. Skimming and Scanning – You should be able to do skim and scan to do well in IELTS. Skimming is reading a passage to get the general idea of the passage which is required to be done before tackling the questions.
SKIM: When you want to read something quickly to get a general idea.· Read the table of contents.
· Read the opening and closing sentences of paragraphs.
· Read headings and subheadings.
· Look at any illustrations or graphic features.
SCAN: When you want to read something quickly to find a specific piece of information.· Look for the keywords related to your topic.
· Look for bold print and italics.
· Look for the words in larger sizes.
· Look through bulleted information and sidebars.
3. Develop your speed reading skills.
4. Don’t try to understand the whole passage – Your task is just to locate answers only.
5. Developing vocabulary – This is one of the key reasons why students don’t get the score they need. Learn vocabulary is just not about learning the meaning of the word, its about learning when you can and can’t use the word.
6. Key words – Each questions will have key words to help you locate information in the passage and to find the right answer.
7. Grammar – question types such as summary completion and sentence completion require that the sentence is grammatically correct when you put the answers in.
8. Practice – Unless you practice regularly you wont improve.
Success in IELTS depends on the practice and preparation.
