Why was IELTS introduced?

IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing

System Examination. It is used to test the proficiency in basics of English Language test in terms of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

 It can help you study, live or work almost anywhere around the world. More than 9,000 organisations worldwide recognize the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) certification, including government, academic and employment institutions.The test results are needed when you apply for a visa or apply for higher studies in foreign countries. Test scores are valid for 2 years.

Now, let us understand why this test has been formulated for immigration?

TEST itself is a scary name .But if we understand the real meaning of it, our lifestyle will change. A test is always conducted to check our learning abilities, so that we can use that knowledge in our real life situations, Similarly, IELTS test was designed with a thought to make our life easy and comfortable in an English-speaking country. . It was  seen that the people  from South Asia who were willing to immigrate to English speaking countries like-UK, Canada, Australia or US were facing the problem of communicating their thoughts with the people over there and their survival was becoming a tough job.

So in order to make connection between individuals of different part of the world, a standardized test was introduced by the name IELTS /PTE /TOEFL . The aim of this test is to make an individual prepare himself to the commonly spoken language of that country . If we study this subject as our basic need then , our perspective towards it “as a test” will definitely change.

We need to understand the IELTS is only a communicating tool for us. The test reflects how you’ll use English to study, work and live in an English speaking environment.
